Wunderkammers

Community Tech and Training Events provide a fun way for youth and families to explore and connect with community employers and training programs that lead to career pathways.

Unlike traditional job fairs, Wunderkammers encourage employers to engage and capture the fascination of young adults as they explore work and career training trajectories.

Wunderkammers welcome participants with chances to ask dozens of questions. These community-based events include employers, youth, parents, employers, industry trainers, youth navigators and community members. The hands-on activities encourage curiosity and inspire the youth learning about careers that they may have never imagined for themselves. Industry technicians become enthusiastic guides. These micro-mentoring moments help youth both explore and fashion their own career paths.

Due to COVID-19 safety requirements, the Wunderkammers have become Zoomerkammers.

The ultimate goal: young adults explore and decide on a career path, find short term articulated training resulting in nationally recognized certificates or degrees. They are guided into entry-level opportunities and provided the job retention supports that lead them to middle-skills careers.
